Las Vegas airport to strip?

Im staying at the Flamingo hotel on the strip. Im planning on taking a cab from the airport to the hotel. Ive looked up directions on yahoo and it says its only about 3.5 miles in distance. I looked at the taxi cab authority website and it says by law the driver has to follow the directions you tell them. Should I print out a map with directions and hand it to the cab driver so he doesnt try and take me some long way? Will handing the cab driver directions offend him?|||http://www.TaxiFareFinder.com has a page for Las Vegas. It is useful when planning a trip.|||no he should not get offended...you might want to check with the hotel to see if they have a shuttle to the hotel from the airport...some of them do and generally free for guests staying there...not sure about that one but even if not the easiest and quickest way is to take paradise rd from the airport to flamingo rd to the strip for the front entance or koval ln for the back entrance.|||for $ 5-10 per person go out door #13 after you've picked up your bags at baggage claim and purchase a ticket for a bus that will take you from the airport to the flamingo. it's cheaper than a cab and just as fast, probably safer to if you've ever had the vegas cab ride experience.....lol|||Tell them not to "Long Haul" you and you should be okay. When you say "Long Haul" you are using the common lingo which indicates that you know what he or she may be up to.

You need to watch out for cabbies who are really friendly or foreign. They may try to use friendliness or language as an excuse.|||Tell him to go the cheapest way (I do it all the time). They can take a highway which may be a little bit quicker, but it is more expensive. Its no big deal to tell the guy to go the cheap way.|||I think I'd be insulted to be handed a map if I were a taxi driver.. Just tell him to take Swenson %26amp; Paradise to Flamingo Rd..|||I doubt they'd be offended but . . . I've been to Vegas a number of times and I've never had a problem. The taxi shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes and be about $15 bucks maybe.|||Tell the driver to go behind the strip, that will save lots of time. Take Paradise Rd to Flamingo.|||There are shuttles from the airport to the strip that make stops all along $6. Skip the cab. The Deuce may even go there. The Deuce is the city bus that you ride for $2. As for the route. The airport is on the strip (Las Vegas BLVD) Go in style and hop a limo $57 per hour. That was $20 about 20 years ago.

The Vegas taxis suck. I rode 2 of them last year and they do not know much about brakes and the vehicles themselves are filthy junk. Glass and plastic litter the corners from collisions. I rode from the Riviera to the Sahara ( you can see one from the other) and it was six bucks. Take the shuttle. It goes straight down the strip and you just say let me off and the driver will. And the taxi will not ake over 4 minutes because he will not stop for anybody. I doubt they will long haul you because they are in a giant hurry to dump you and get the next fair. I think the dude that drove us was from Mogadishu.

Lucky 7.77 Buffet Las Vegas, where on the strip is this?

I know it's in the Plaza Hotel -- or at least I think it is -- but on every map of the strip I pull up, I cannot seem to find the Plaza Hotel. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks! ;-)|||As so many have said it is downtown, but actually it is at the end of Fremont street, downtown. :)|||Yep .. it's downtown Las Vegas not on the strip. Here is the map for you.

http://www.vegastodayandtomorrow.com/THE鈥?/a>

It is in the Plaza.|||The Plaza Hotel is Downtown.|||The Plaza hotel is in downtown.|||Its Downtown.. not of the strip.

Soon I will be saying in a hotel on the Strip in Las Vegas. I want to see a show at the Santa Fe Casino/Hotel?

on 4949 N. Rancho Drive. What bus will take me there? (I have trouble figuring out the online maps and bus routes.) If there is no bus, what can I expect to pay for a taxi?|||From the strip to Santa Fe Station is about 15 miles and a cab fare will run you about $40 each way.

http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/taxi-fare鈥?/a>

Like the previous answer said, if you must go, you might be better off renting a car.|||It's a long way from the Strip. The taxi will be expensive. I suggest if you're gonna be making trips like that, to rent a car. A little compact car rental for 1 day will be about the same or less than taxi fare from the Strip to the Santa Fe.

You could take a Cat (Citizens Area Transit) bus and transfer as needed but it would take a while. Here's there website http://www.rtcsouthernnevada.com|||Sante Fe Hotel is a distance from the Strip.聽 I do not think there is a bus that goes there without multiple links and several hours travel.聽 If you want to go, take a tax, but expect a $20 charge at least each way.聽

Sante Fe Hotel is located off US95 near Rancho Road.聽 It is about 23 miles north of the Strip.聽|||Taxis are a bit expensive, but you should expect to pay 30.00

The Las Vegas Strip?

Will you get me a really detailed map of the strip? I'll give 10 points to the best one.|||Here is one of the best maps that I have found regarding the strip, downtown and the surrounding areas. It shows where things are, where things are going to be -- and proposed projects. Many other options to look at. Hope this helps.

http://vegastodayandtomorrow.com/VegasTa鈥?/a>|||Here is a web site with a interactive map of the strip, downtown, and all of Vegas in general.

You won't get bored on the Strip! There are PLENTY of things to do - shop, dine, play, win, anything goes! There are free attractions in almost every hotel!|||try this one|||a lot of drunk people|||These are the biggest I could find.

Where can I find the strip in Las Vegas, Nevada?

what i'm looking for, is a picture of the strip, on the map. i looked on yahoo maps, and i just could not find it. and if you have any pics, right on, can i take a peak?|||try this

Las VEgas Boulevard

That this the name.

Then put it in your map search|||The strip is located where all the main casinos and hotels are located.|||http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q%26amp;hl=en%26amp;ge鈥?/a>|||Las Vegas FACTOID:

In reality, The Las Vegas Strip is NOT in Las Vegas.

The Strip is in Paradise, Nevada, USA.

The name Las Vegas is often applied to the unincorporated areas of Clark County that surround the city, especially the resort areas on and near the Las Vegas Strip. This 4陆 mi (7.2 km) stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard is mostly outside the Las Vegas city limits, in the unincorporated towns of Paradise and Winchester.

You can locate the different Hotels on this map....

http://www.oldvegaschips.com/map.jpg|||You will not have a problem finding the strip in Las Vegas|||Gene L is right. In fact, the only hotel on the Strip within Las Vegas city limits is the Stratosphere.|||Its north.|||The strip is on Las Vegas Blvd South some of the major hotels on the strip are manadaly bay, Bellagio, Ceasers Palace, Flamingo, and New York New York if u want photos of these hotels go to yahoo click images and search any of these hotels also on yahoo search the web for any of these

hotels then go to mapquest and enter the address of the hotels and you will get maps of the strip area|||"The Strip" is Las Vegas Blvd. so put that into Yahoo or Google Maps %26amp; you should be good to go|||The correct name of the "strip" is Las Vegas Blvd.|||A really great website is googleearth.com you have to download it and you can actually zoom into the las vegas strip and go to each casino on the strip.|||try this travel site. expeda.com

Is the Las Vegas "strip" located in north or south Las Vegas?

I'm trying to find a map of where the strip lies in relation to the entire city of Las Vegas with no luck.|||The city of Las Vegas is north of the strip. The Strip is in the unincorporated town of paradise.

Sahara Avenue is the dividing line between the two.

For marketing purposes and not to confuse the tourists, many people consider the entire valley "Las Vegas" and the mail will be delivered if addressed Las Vegas, even if you live in Henderson.|||It's southern vegas, but just go to google maps and search for MGM, or New York New York which is on the strip|||neither. its basically smack dab in the middle|||South, by quite a bit. The Strip is on the very south part of the city; to the north is the so-called "downtown" or "Freemont Street" gambling area, and north of that is the real city (i.e., the place where locals actually live and shop and go to school, etc.).|||It's in the Southern part of Las Vegas.

The Northern part has more of a normal city look to it %26amp; lots of residential neighborhoods too.|||it is parallel to route 15 if you have the map

see where the air port is and you will see it is very close. that would be the southern end.|||In the strictest sense, "the Strip" refers only to Las Vegas Boulevard, roughly between Sahara Avenue and Russell Road, a distance of 4.1 miles (6.6 km). However, the term is often used to refer not only to the road but also to the various casinos and resorts that line the road, and even to properties which are not on the road but in proximity.

The Las Vegas Strip is an approximately 3.8 mi (6.1 km) stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard South in Clark County, Nevada. A small portion of the Strip lies in Las Vegas, but most of it is in the unincorporated areas of Paradise and Winchester. Most of "the Strip" has been designated an All-American Road

Several decades ago, Las Vegas Boulevard South was called Arrowhead Highway, or Los Angeles Highway. The Strip was reportedly named by Los Angeles police officer Guy McAfee, after his hometown's Sunset Strip|||South Las Vegas. The southern end of the Strip is just west of McCarran International Airport.|||The Strip is just the nickname of Las Vegas Blvd.|||The strip is in the center of town in the sense it is not north or south and it is not east or west. It use to be the south part of town but with the building of seven hills, southern highlands, the outlet mall, south point etc it is no longer the southern part of town|||Use Yahoo maps, put in Las Vegas, NV. Zoom in or out as required. The Strip is Las Vegas Blvd. It basically starts near McCarran Airport on the Southern part of your map. It is not called "the Strip" on the map.

Where can I advertise on the Las Vegas Strip?

I want to advertise my company on the Las Vegas Strip, but last time I was downtown I was told I couldn't be in front of certain casino's. Does anyone know where I can advertise without the cops telling me to "move on".

A map or list of places would be very helpful.|||Not sure how you are advertising. Downtown is a bit different than the strip. Each casino believes they own the area right outside their property Along the strip most of the people handing out the cards are in front of construction sights or open areas and not directly in front of the casinos. Here is a map of the strip ... don't know if it will help or not.

http://www.vegastodayandtomorrow.com/con鈥?/a>|||The city of Las Vegas recently painted the solid lines between the curb of Las Vegas Blvd extending several feet onto the side walk. This space designates a "Free Speech or Advertising Zone." It might not extend the full length of the strip but the location is flooded with people handing out porn passes and strip club flyer's. Maybe consider renting a space on a truck marquee that drives up and down Las Vegas Blvd day and night.|||The last time I was there, there were hundreds of people handing out business advertising, and no one made them stop.

If someone tells you to move on then move to another location and work there until you need to move again.

Question about las Vegas strip.?

http://www.destination360.com/north-amer鈥?/a>

I was ask to take a look at that map and list the name of the Hotel that is located across the street from Planet Hollywood hotel.

-I told that it was the Monte Carlo Hotel. apparently they say that is not correct. any suggestion?

Then i was ask to name two hotels on either side of New York New York. (one on left, and one on right)

- I listed Orleans and the MGM Grand.. was also told that it was wrong. Am i seeing something different here? |||Look at this map of the strip

http://www.vegastodayandtomorrow.com/con鈥?/a>

The hotel directly across for PH is Bellagio and City Center.

To the left of NYNY is Excalibur and to the right is Monte Carlo and part of City Center.

The map you have is not very accurate. The map I provided is current and accurate. The Orleans is actually way behind NYNY on West Tropicana. You are looking at that map from the wrong perspective.|||Absolutely Bellagio is across the street from Plantet Hollywood and Paris and Bally's. I know for sure because I stay there.

NYNY is between the Excalibur and the Monte Carlo.

The Orleans is on the northwest corner of West Tropicana Avenue and Arville Road.

|||I didn't have any problem with the map. you might want to read it North/South and the long line is the strip. Go to another site like Google or Yahoo maps and you'll see a better picture.

Orleans is 1.5 miles off the strip.|||The problem is that the map does not show the proper dimensions. That's Because Ballys, Paris and Planet Hollywood are jammed very close together. I have been to Vegas many times and can tell you for certain that Ballys and Paris are directly across the street from Bellagio. And if/when you walk out of Paris and go across the street at the corner cross walk you will end up at the escalator that will take you up to a walkway going into Bellagio.

But if you walk further south about 100 feet or so you go right into the Planet Hollywood shops and then its casino. All of that is just about directly across from what used to be the Jockey Club and the Jockey Club is being swallowed up by the new Town Center. So Planet Hollywood is across from the new Town Center.

This map gives a better showing of those hotels: http://www.goingtovegas.com/kpv-lvst.htm

New York, Ny Hotel is on the corner of the Strip and Tropicana Avenue. On its south side, same side of the Strip but across the street, is the Excalibur Hotel. On its north side, same side of the street, is the Monte Carlo. Across from it on the East corner in MGM. The other corner is the Tropicana.|||There is currently NO hotel directly across from PH. City Center is being built. PH is across the street between Bellagio and Monte Carlo (check www.vegas.com)

You will see ALL the casinos. BTW Orleans is not on The Strip|||MGM is across from New York, New York. Across from Planet Hollywood is Monte Carlo

What's a good web site to learn the future of the Las Vegas Strip?

What's a good web site to learn the future of the Las Vegas Strip? I'm curious to know what is going to be built there in the future and when they'll be completed. Is there a map showing what the strip will look like in five or ten years?|||http://www.vegastodayandtomorrow.com/

It shows implosions and current projects that are underway, approved, and all the latest development news. I think this is what you are looking for.|||www.luxevegas.com for current hot spots/ happenings

http://www.cheapovegas.com

Also, my advice is to check out the regular travel websites when looking for a good rate. I prefer expedia and travelocity (yahoo)

http://www.expedia.com

http://travel.yahoo.com

And a little advice on best deal for 10th wedding anniversary:

Stay somewhere nice. If you can get a good deal at the Bellagio or Venetian stay at one of those, but a good deal at those will still be expensive. If you want to really keep costs down but stay somewhere nice, I recommend the following:

Flamingo (Probably the best all around place for the money)

Monte Carlo

Barbary Coast (actually a lower cost hotel but very romantic rooms and a beautiful hotel)

Palms

Paris

Aladdin

Another great idea for your situation is to go with one of the low-end hotels but get one of their suites. Even though the hotels are "low-end" and "no frills", they still have a certain number of suites or "mini-suites" or "jacuzzi suites", and they are very nice rooms. Because they are in the lower end hotels they will cost maybe the same or a little more than a "regular" room at a middle to high end hotel. Some of the hotels I'm talking about would be:

Lady Luck

Sahara

Golden Nugget

Palace Station

Gold Coast

If you search on expedia.com they will usually give you the costs of the various rooms available, including all the suites, etc.

It should be a great trip and a great anniversary for you both, have fun!!!|||Check vegas.com. It has everything you want to know about vegas. It has a map where all the hotels are located on the strip and also downtown. Click on the hotel and it will show you what they offer.|||Use www.mapquest.com for the map. You can switch between their road map and satellite views to get a really good idea of how Vegas is laid out.

For hotels, use the middle man websites (expedia, orbitz, travelocity) to research hotels in your price range. But unless you plan to book an entire package (air, hotel, car) book your hotel reservations directly on the hotel websites themselves as there will be no fees if you cancel at least 48 hours prior. Not only that, when you go to the hotel websites, they often list promotions %26amp; specials that you won't see when booking through a travel agent. For example: I just booked three nights at the MGM for my wife and me in December. By booking on the MGM website, not only did we get a great rate, we received the 'Maximum Nights' package which gives us a $25 dining credit, 2 free drinks at one of their lounges, and two free VIP passes into Studio 54 (value $30 each). You can find these deals at just about any hotel's website. Try these: MGM, Luxor, Monte Carlo, Mirage, or Treasure Island.

Have a great time on your anniversary.|||http://www.stripmapoflasvegas.com has a better map than most of the others because it also includes restaurants, stores, banks, and other things in addition to showing where the casinos are. And it shows hotels that don't have casinos attached.|||triple AAA

I really have no comment, but I will just say that it is very thoughtful of you to do that, I would have never thought to do something that amazing!

Bank of America Branch/ATM in Vegas Strip Please Help!?

I"m currently in las vegas now on the strip. HOwever, there is no branch or atm where i can get my money. I didn't brought enough money from home and thought i could just withdraw money at the branch/atm. I found one bank of america atm that i read online about the Forum Shop at Caesars Palace. However, that machine does not allow me to withdraw any cash.

Does anyone know where else i can go? Do i have to go off the strip? I have no car. CAn someone tell me what is the cheapest way i can get to a bank of america ranch/atm while riding a taxi? I want to walk to the closest place possible and then take the taxi from there to the bank of america branch.

I read there was a branch near tropicana but isn't that on the strip? I have a map of the strip. The thing is i want to withdraw at least $4000 so if i withdraw at atm, it will cost me a lot of money each time and i know there is a limit as well. Thus, i want to get to a branch and then withdraw everything i need at once and do this by taking a cab there. HOw much would the cab cost? I know i have to times it by 2 since i'm going back and forth.|||I am taking your question as 'serious'...though you are asking it on a website, instead of calling the customer service number on the back of your card. Also, any hotel concierge/operator/bell staff...would send you to the nearest one they know of. Additionally, if you can take $4,000 out, you shouldn't be fussing over the cost of a cab to get to an ATM.

However...a 'serious' answer is:

1) If you are near MGM/Mandalay Bay area...you would go East (towards the airport and past its entrance) to Maryland Parkway...there's a full-service branch there...next to a McDonald's and UNLV.

2) If you are nearer to T.I. (formerly Treasure Island) or Venetian, etc...then you should go West on Spring Mountain (Into Vegas' version of Chinatown)...It's just a few lights past the strip there (diagonally across the street from the Chinatown Plaza and across the street from Play It Again Sam strip club).

3) Take a city bus to 'downtown' or 'Freemont Street' AREA...there is a major BofA branch at the corner of Bridger and 4th street. About a block from Freemont street. (It sits one block west of 'the strip' or Las Vegas Blvd...however you wish to refer to it.|||Use the ATM location feature on the Bank Of America Website. Enter in your starting address and it will take you to the closest one.|||There is a Bank of America branch 3 blocks West of the Orleans.

The Orleans has a free shuttle to/from the strip, you catch it at Bill's Gamblin Hall

Then walk the three blocks from the Orleans to BOA.

Round trip cost - free|||Best to see cashier at the casino. CAll the phone number on back of the card. SHould be one to help you locate a ATM near you.|||Maybe its just me, but I dunno if withdrawing that much at one time is a good idea - or even possible!.

The other thing that raises a flag in my mind is how you could misjudge your spending money by $4000!!

You should use your BoA debit card to pay for most items in Vegas. If you are pulling the money out to gamble - not a good idea, especially in light of the fact that you already stated that you didn't bring enough money

Something doesn't sound right with this post.....

Is this a good B-day Present?

okay i'm a chick and my best guy friends b-day is coming up soon. How we met is we were assigned to be partners together in a class we had and we had to make this story about what we would do if we could visit 5 major city's in 5 days.

we were gonna go to las vegas and get drunk and i was gonna take him to a strip joint then jump in a fountain together at night or go to new york and sleep under the stars in central park. It's all pretend but we like to say that someday we'll go. And when he was four he wanted a barney doll and I wanted a locket but our parents never got it for us. He no longer wants a barney doll though.

well for his birthday I was going to make a CD case with barney on it with small text saying, "I told you I would give you what you always wanted, lol" and in the CD case would be 2 Cd's. 1 is going to be our favorite songs put together with print on the CD and rode map of the US saying "The soundtrack for Las Vegas." and the other CD is going to be all of our friends saying good things about him and wishing him a Happy B-day,including his sister and parents as a surprise. On the CD it will just say,"surprise and to put it in his computer."

Well any coments?|||That sounds like a very nice gift. It is the little things that mean the most. I remember when I was young and would ask my mom what she wanted for Christmas she would always say "a new car full of spending money" so after about the fourth year I went and brought her a hot wheels car and put money in it. Just a few dollars and some change. She loved it. She laughed so hard. She even took it to work and showed her co-workers and customers. She worked as a waitress at the time. I did get her something else, but it was the "new car full of spending money" that she told everyone about.

By giving him what you plan on, it will show him you listened to what he was saying and you took the time to remember.|||A barbie doll or bratz doll|||Uhh how old are you guys? 10?

Questions about Ballys and bellagio?

Hi we are going to Las vegas here soon! We were going to stay at Ballys but might change our mind, what are the hotels right in the vicinity of Ballys and Bellagio... I am not familiar with that area of the strip what are all the hotels ... is there a map of the strip anywhere online that shows where the hotels are so I can see where the hotels are? if not, what are the good central ones by Ballys and Bellagio?|||Here is a map of the strip and downtown. Flamingo, Harrahs and Imperial Palace are running deals all the time now. Keep Imperial Palace as the last choice in that central area.|||Right there you are pretty much in the center of the strip. You are near Cesar's Palace, The Mirage, The Flamingo, Planet Hollywood and so on.|||OK here are the hotels by the four corners that make up the four miles of the famous Strip

Tropicana, Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, NYNY, Monte Carlo

along the way Planet Hollywood

Bellagio, Ballys, Caesars Palace, Bills, Flamingo, Paris

Wynn, Encore, Venetiain, Palazzo, Fashion Show Mall

Sahara Hotel with walk to Circus Circus, Riveria and Stratosphere|||Paris, Planet Hollywood, and Caesars Palace, these hotels are all on the center of the strip.|||As you face Bally's, to your right will be Paris and Planet Hollywood. Directly across the Strip will be Bellagio. Map below.

*|||Cheapovegas.com has the best map of the strip with one quick honest review of each hotel. If you stay at Bally's ask for the front tower for great views of Paris, Bellagio fountains, and a few others. It's not as updated as the back tower but the view makes up for it!

Also Bally's is connected to Paris on the inside which means you get way more eating, gambling, and entertainment options very close to your room! It may not sound like a big deal now BUT when you get there you will appreciate it!

Close hotels to Bally's are ~Paris, Bill's Flamingo, Bellagio

and

Bellagio's closest hotels are ~ Caesar's Palace, Monte Carlo(kind of), Bally's, and Bill's.

Bally's casino is easier to navigate and has slightly easier access to other sister properties. Plus Bally's is a monorail stop!|||Have stayed in ballys and to be honest there are allot more hotels near bye with much better atmosphere, flamingo, caesars and mirage are just sum of the many great hotels near bye

have a great time|||Hotels around the area you were describing would be Caesars Palace, Imperial Palace, The Flamingo, Venitian, and Palazzo. There are some more, but these are pretty much right around the Bellagio and Ballys. If you are looking for a hotel just to sleep and shower in go with the Imerial Palace. It's cheap and has a great location. The rooms are just like your regular hotel room, but they are clean. If you are looking for luxury go Caesars. Caesars is personally my absolute favorite hotel. There is a great pool, spas, and the Forum Shoppes, which you will have to check out reguardless if you stay there or not. The location is great and the hotel itself is breath taking, it's absolutely gorgeous! It's a little more money, but worth it. I haven't stayed there before, but I have been in the hotel numerous of times.

What zip codes in vegas area are nice to move to?

I am looking to move to Las Vegas. I have found some very nice homes but do not know if they are in nice areas. some area codes that i have found range from Henderson to North Las Vegas. Some of the area codes in Las Vegas are 89134, 89139, 89148 and 89143. In Henderson 89052 and 89012. please help me.... what is the best area codes? they all are a good 10+ miles from the strip and the area looks nice just based off of the homes. here is the link to an area code map.

http://www.lasvegasrealestatebythesalters.com/Zip%20Code%20Map.jpg

Once again, thanks for all of the help.|||89149 (Centennial Hills) is where it's at, newer area. All new shops and restaurants, and a brand new Hospital. Close to the freeway both 95 and the 215, the traffic up here isn't crazy unlike most other parts. New schools (if you have kids) we have everything up this way, that we need. With out it being busy and hectic. Stay clear of North Vegas (i'm north/west) great view up here of the whole strip/valley and close to the mountains.

89128 is also a nice area ( around Buffalo and Durango) also north/west.

89131 or 89129, 89144 and 89147 are good area's (nice and clean).

89134 and 89143 also good nice place to live (part of town)

Both 89139 %26amp; 89148 are newer area's but both, are busy and seen a little far off (nothing seems close, store places to eat). The tarffic is always so heavy in and around that part of town.|||Henderson by freeway is 30 minutes away from Vegas and that is a very busy freeway. The best parts of Henderson are in the Green Valley Development but there are great homes everywhere. You don't want to buy sight unseen because Henderson has a history of putting very nice by very ikky|||I live in 89138 and I love it!

Summerlin rocks!

Getting around Vegas cheap?

We are stayin at the Flamingo and have no problem using the duce bus or the monorail so here is my ? . One evening we are planning on starting the night at Fix Lounge for the sunset and I understand there is a public overpass walkway to get to the cezars palace so as to be on the right side of the street to catch the bus down to the Mandalay Bay, but how do we catch the bus to come back the other way as there are no pedestrian walk ways or stops for about half a mile going the other way on the other side of the street as we will be going to the Harrah's from there. After that we will take the monorail back to the paris as I do not see a pedestrian cross walk anywhere around Harrahs. Is there a map of the pedestrin walkways? How does one get across Las Vegas Blvd without walking up the entire block? Also, is it true that it takes 45 min to take the Duce from Freemont St to mid strip? Thanks for any tips. Would we be better off on the MB night to take a cab to Harrahs w/b dresses|||Information on all of the public transportation in Las Vegas, including all of the free hotel shuttles.

http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/transport鈥?/a>

You can catch the Deuce across from both Mandalay Bay or Luxor, it's just as easy though to take the monorail from MB down to Excalibur then walk the pedestrian bridge over to the MGM and catch the bus their.

This is a map of the Monorail, and the LV strip, but if you look closely you can see the pedestrian bridges over the strip(they are grey)

http://www.vegastodayandtomorrow.com/mon鈥?/a>

From Harrah's to Paris is not that far to walk and there is a pedestrian bridge over Flamingo Rd. It runs from Bill's Gamblin Hall over to Bally's.

The Deuce probably takes around 25-30 minutes, depending on traffic, to get from Fremont St to Harrah's. It only takes the bus 45 minutes from McCarran airport to downtown.

~Jack~|||Thank you

|||I like riding the Deuce. I didn't think I would but it really isn't bad at all. A 24 hr pass can be had for cheap, like $5. You can take the free tram up to the Excalibur, then walk across and make your way over to the MGM Grand. The Deuce can be caught right in front the MGM Grand.

Difference between Rainbow Six: Vegas for PS3/360 or PSP?

I am thinking on buying it for my PSP. and i have seen previews and gameplay for PS3 and it looks great. I know there is a difference in graphics but how about maps, missions, features, arcade mode, multiplayer, and especially scenarios.

Oh yea and if you can, can you please tell me the places in Las Vegas it shows like the casinos, what parts of the strip, and other fantastic places in Vegas

I know long question

And thank you so much|||If I were you I would get the 360 version, I bought the PS3 version and exchanged it for the 360 version. There's no difference in maps or any other feature, but there is a HUGE difference in online play. There are way more people playing the game on XBL and the connections are way better. Plus I prefer FPS with the 360 controller. Also, another huge difference is the framerate in the PS3, it is slow, it might be a tad bit better looking, but it runs slower than the 360 version. If there are alot of explosions going on, the game will start to slow down. Even sound effects on the PS3 version don't register, like if I were to fire off some rounds with a sub machine gun, parts of the time, the gun won't make any noise. As for places in the game, you are totally away from the strip, no big name places/hotels/casinos that were in the first game. I don't even recall ever seeing the Las Vegas strip in the game at all.

RTC - Las Vegas - Where to buy passes?

I've been on their website for 20 minutes, trying to figure out where I can buy a 3 day pass. Everything I've clicked on (through their map) shows either 5 day pass, or 30 day pass. Could anyone tell me where I could get a 3 day pass on the strip? It says you cant purchase one on the bus - but you could purchase a 24 hr pass. Anyone able to tell me if I can use a "Residential Pass" instead of a "Premium Pass" on the strip? Sooo confusing....|||Yes, you can buy a 3-Day Full Fare All Access Pass on the strip for $15.00. This is a new pass that was introduced this year. Here are places you can buy passes 1) Downtown Transportation Center 2) South Strip Transfer Terminal, 3) All the RTC vendor locations throughout Las Vegas 4) Most Albertsons grocery stores.

http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/cat.php|||You don't state if you are a resident or a visitor. If you are a resident you can use a residential pass on the Fold or Deuce line, which is the strip line, without paying extra like you did before. They are the most confusing bus system in the US. Don't feel alone. I am always fighting with them on information. It says you can only buy 3 day passes at the TVM ( ticket vending machines) located around town. I believe there are three on the strip. One if front of MGM and another in front of Circus Circus. Not sure where the third one is. Again, not convenient at all for most visitors.|||they have the ticket machines at the busstop on the strip... you can get it there

Ventetian Hotel Las Vegas?

Is it at the end of the strip? the boring side? http://off2vegas.com/map.html

shows that is way off at the end

IS this hotel to fancy and boojie for a married couple 30 and 33 years old?

Any other hotels you can think that will be just as nice.

The venetian has a good deal to,, 150 119 each additional night $50 each stay casino money|||I stayed at the Venetian in April, going back next year same time. This is for a convention and I stayed 7 nights.

Venetian has a perfect location more or less in the middle of the strip. Treasure Island and Wynn are close but with a few minutes walking you reach several other casinos. Also nearby is a shopping arcade.

I loved Venetian, it's a small city :-)

When you check-in, be sure to get the renovated rooms with flat screen TVs. Read my review on Tripadvisor where this is further explained:

http://las-vegas-hotels.tripadvisor.com/鈥?/a>

|||It is one of my favorite casino/hotels on the strip. It's well located in the middle of the strip, close to all the action and has more than enough of its own action too. It's perfect for almost any couples or singles. You won't be disappointed. the prices are a bit steep, but on par for hotels of this kind. You should check around for deals and discounts. The Wynn is next door as well as the Paris and both are also on the expensive side. There are also, older casino/hotels that are very nice, clean and comfortable all around too. Check and pick your pleasure. In these tough times, nearly all of the hotels are offering cheaper than normal rates to try and drum up business. Good luck.

|||I prefer The Bellagio. It's less phony looking, in a great location and isn't "boojie" at all. It is simply beautiful. |||The venetien is centre strip. Great location . Nice place but I prefer to stay at Bellagio. IMO a nicer hotel and friendlier atmosphere. You can probably book Bellagio online for 149.00 per night. They usually have that special on. Well worth it. That's a huge deal.

Trying to decide between 3 hotels in Las Vegas...?

I'm going to Las Vegas in mid October with 5 other girls, all 21-27. We're trying to decide between Mirage, MGM, and Mandalay Bay. We'll be there for 3 nights and have found packages on Expedia for $384, $350, and $387 respectively including round trip flight.

Trying to decide which to stay at. Prices are all similar and $30 more for a better hotel is not a concern. While there we'll be walking the strip, going out a couple nights, and using the hotel pool. I do know about the free monorail from Mandalay Bay to Luxor and Excalibur, but are MB and MGM still far down the strip? I haven't been able to find any maps with scales in order to determine this.

Which hotel would you stay at??|||Mandalay bay. hands down.|||From Mandalay Bay you would take the tram to the front of the Exaclibur. Just have to cross over to the opposite corner to get to the MGM Grand. The Mirage is about a mile from the MGM Grand and is about a half hour walk when you factor in the foot traffic and waiting for red lights to cross the streets. Doesn't really matter which hotel you stay in. Mandalay Bay has the best pool in Vegas followed by MGM. The Mirage pool area is always crowded. I would stay at the Mandalay Bay just because it is the nicest.|||The Mirage if you're older, Mandalay Bay if you're younger (they cater to a younger crowd) and MGM if you want to get a lot of exercise walking because it's a huge monstrocity.

BTW - Bally's used to be the MGM. It's 35 years old, not the current MGM, which has incorporated the old Marina Hotel into the front of it, but it's NOT 35 years old.|||Of the 3 MGM is the oldest, its 35 years old, vs Mandalay Bay built 10 years ago, the newest of the 3. If you want to be in the center of the strip where you can walk around easily to see the Bellagio fountain and the canal in Venetian I would stay at Mirage. Mandalay Bay is a little away from the strip but they have the best pool.|||All of these hotels are very good. I think Mirage has the best location and Mandalay Bay and MGM are perfect for their pool areas. Personally I would choose MGM Grand because of their great room offer promotions. I would check http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com - it has the latest hotel promos available.|||Mandalay Bay is the best choice and the best pool area. Now the only reason I might consider the Mirage is because it was remodeled last year and is in a better location if you plan to walk everywhere.|||Mirage because it is centrally located, has a great pool, shows, casino, etc. Mandalay is far but has a cool wave pool and nice nightclubs. MGM is the biggest, but may be too big.|||I'd stay at Mirage or MGM 2nd choice. I'm not a big fan of Mandalay Bay personally. I would choose Mirage because of the location, I think that end of the strip is more fun. And the Mirage has recently been remodeled.|||Mandalay Bay is the best of the 3

Mirage has the best location

MGM Grand is nice. They are all great hotels. Book using promo codes to save.

http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/las-vegas鈥?/a>|||I have stayed at Mandalay Bay and it is very nice, but its far from the action as well. I like being in the middle of the strip so I would have to say Mirage. I hear its nice there as well. Have fun!!!|||Best bet is to check the traveler comments through sites such as Tripadvisor.com, Yelp.com, or even Expedia.com

Don't forget sometimes people exaggerate . hope you ladies have a great time.|||Whatever one you chose will be okay. It really doesn't matter where you stay, you will still do a lot of walking.|||Mirage! Just because! It has Jet club lounge.

MGM second place.

Mandalay Bay pool may be closed in October.

Las Vegas declared ice hockey capital of North America?

Long understood to be primarily a Canadian sport, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman made an announcement yesterday that suggests that there is a sense change on the wind.

No stranger to controversy when it comes to expanding their league, in recent years the NHL has added a number of franchises in the far south of America despite almost non-existent fan bases. Bettman told the press yesterday that Las Vegas, the 31st team to enter the league, will join next season.

“We’ve spent hours looking at a map of the United States, trying to decide where the hotbed of hockey might be hiding,” said the shrewd commissioner. “We think that we may have found it right here in the Nevada desert. Las Vegas knows better than anyone else how to put on a show. A rink on the Strip could be the center of nightly entertainment in the district. This new franchise will have it all: Gambling, daredevils, women and maybe even a little bit of hockey.”

Canadian millionaire Jim Balsillie took the time to announce his displease with the decision, in light of his recent attempts to buy a franchise himself. “I’m just an ordinary guy trying to buy a hockey team, but they seem to be blocking me at every turn” said the businessman, who buys professional sports franchises the same way some buy groceries. “I wanted to put a franchise in Ontario, next to Toronto where they can sell out the building almost every game. Gary wants a franchise in the far south, right next to Phoenix. What? You didn’t know Pheonix had a hockey team? Yeah, neither did anybody else.”

“We can make ice in Las Vegas,” says hockey arena maintenance man and ice professional Bill Shackleton. “It just won’t be good ice. Actually, it’s a little bit stupid to even suggest that pros will be able to play on it. It’s like put basketball players on a court made out of sponges. Maybe we can get the players to bring their roller blades, so if the ice doesn’t work out, at least they can still have a game.”

Most hockey fans have full faith in the decision making skills of the diminutive, physically inept commissioner of hockey, so there was little backlash at this recent announcement. The policy has found very few critics. Canadian hockey fan Kenny Weatherall was heard to comment, “I don’t know why they don’t go to Winnipeg or somewhere else where water, like, freezes, eh?”|||Somebody's on crack. Anybody who studies hockey knows that the capitol of hockey is Detroit.

Las Vegas would be a minor-league market, at best.|||Las Vegas could support two hockey teams. If I were Bettman I would move the Habs and Leafs to Vegas. Those idiot fans in those two cities would still buy season tickets even if there was no hockey, which even now is usually the case especially in Toronto.|||There is professional hockey in vegas I think they are called the Gamblers, however, I dont think that you have to worry about anybody calling Las Vegas the hockey capital ever. it is a Canadian game and always will be|||I'm totally against teams in the south that can't compete on the ice or in the wallet.(Phoniex, Florida, Tampa, LA, and Atlanta.) And adding to that is just going to make the NHL a bigger joke than it already is.|||I didn't find it funny, informative or entertaining.|||When you take articles off The Onion you really should admit that is the Source. Although they would have written a better article if they made a joke like this. So next time you want to pretend you have an article then you better have a source. Don't write your own pretend article and expect us to believe it.|||Las Vegas doesn't even have an NHL team only ECHL
